<Konokai> was founded by Wakayagi Chika at Hong Kong in 1999. Initially, it was established by four Japanese who were in love with Kimono and Japanese dance. It was then extended to people in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan whom has interest in Japanese culture and enjoys learning Japanese dance. In addition, there is no age limitation so even children and elderly people can enjoy the dance.

<Konokai> aims to gather people who have interest in Japanese dance, Japanese performing arts and Japanese culture in Hong Kong.

Japanese dance is for people without boundary! We, as performers, use forms of dance to express the different sceneries, beyond the boundary of race, language and gender. 

On one hand, we provide a platform for cultural exchange among different cultures through Japanese dance; on the other hand, we strongly hope to develop a place of cultural exchange.

關於香之會，香之會是若柳智香老師1999年成立的日本舞蹈會。當初是由四名熱愛日本舞蹈及和服的日本人組成的，至今已增加了來自香港、中囯和臺灣的各年齡段人士通過日本舞而追求各自理想的舞蹈會。
至於香之會的特徵，是與日本舞極有緣份的各類人士聚集在香港，大家對日本傳統表演藝術日本舞有濃厚興趣而在此相遇的舞蹈會。為尋找屬於自己更嶄新更寬廣的世界，是維繫各種各樣會員的一個宗旨。

我們利用日本舞的姿態，通过形體表现各種花草風月的自然美景，以此來超越國境和語言界限上的交流。在這裡，我們一方面通過日本舞為維繫來跨越地域為各種文化的接觸為交流提供一個平臺，另一方面也期望為文化交流領域作出一份貢獻。
